In this label debut, ULFO compiles together artists working in an emerging field of industrial minimalism, with an as-of-yet undetermined genre name; ULFO is using Static Techno and Rhythmic Noise Wall to describe this new aesthetic coalescing extreme sonic elements, of dirty primitive machine beats with distressed textural minimalism, of monolithic pulsations struggling against unyielding walls of grit and static, of corroded lo-fi industrial rhythms amid omnipresent harsh fuzz, of bleak minimal four-on-the-noise-floor techno. This is a showcase of new studies of stasis that will either induce hypnosis and trance-states to the initiated or frustration to everyone else, in a first-of-its-kind compilation setting the stage for future expositions of this aesthetic on this label.
